Today we will explore you what is the full form of suct technical short form in civil engineering. I hope this article is very helpful for you. If you understand the Individual meaning and the full form of all the technical words that helps you in real engineering life.

Full form of RCC, RBC, ACC, PPC, PCC, OPC, PQC, PSC in Civil Engineering

What is the full form of RCC?

In civil engineering, the full form of RCC is “Reinforced Cement Concrete“. It is the Composite material of Cement, Sand, Aggregate, and Reinforcement or Rebars. Rebar is used for the improvement of the strength and durability of the concrete. Concrete can resist the compression load and Rebar resist tension load in the structure.

The density of RCC is 2500 kg/ m3.

What is the full form of RBC?

The full form of RBC is “Reinforced Brick Concrete“. This is also one of the structural members of the structure. In which the Brick is mixed in RCC (reinforced cement concrete). That means RBC is a composite of Cement, sand, aggregate, Brick, and Rebars. Brick and reinforcement are used for additional strength and durability. This type of structure is an old type of structure.

What is the full form of ACC?

In civil engineering, ACC commonly stands for “Autoclaved Aerated Concrete.” It’s a lightweight precast building material that contains air bubbles and is known for its thermal insulation properties. ACC is used in construction and environmental friendliness.

What is the Full form of PPC?

PPC stands for “Portland Pozzolana Cement.” It’s a type of cement that is manufactured by combining Portland cement clinker, gypsum, and pozzolanic materials. Such as fly ash, volcanic ash, or silica fumes. This blend results in a cementitious material with improved workability, durability, and resistance to chemicals.

What is the full form of OPC?

OPC in civil engineering stands for “Ordinary Portland Cement”. It is the most commonly used type of cement for construction purposes worldwide.

The OPC cement has a different grade such as OPC 33, OPC 43, and OPC 53 Grade.

OPC cement is the composition of grinding clinker, gypsum, and pozzolanic.

What is the full form of PSC?

PSC stands for “Prestressed Concrete” in civil engineering.

Another full form of PSC is Portland slag Cement.

Prestressed concrete counters tensile stresses by introducing internal stresses.

High-strength steel rebars are tensioned within the concrete before setting.

Once hardened, bars are anchored, creating compressive forces.

Precompression enhances concrete strength, enabling longer spans and thinner sections.

A popular choice for bridges, buildings, and large structures due to its advantages.

What is the full form of PQS?

PQC stands for “Pavement Quality Concrete.” It refers to a specific type of concrete mixture used in road construction for the wearing surface or top layer of pavement.

PQC is designed to withstand heavy traffic loads, resist abrasion, and provide a smooth riding surface for vehicles. It is typically applied over the base and subbase layers of a pavement structure.

The quality of PQC is important for ensuring the durability and longevity of the road surface, as well as providing a comfortable and safe driving experience for road users.

PQC is mostly used in the Rigid Pavement surface on road construction.

Conclusion

The full forms of RCC are Reinforced Cement Concrete, PCC plain cement Concrete, RBC Reinforced Brick Concrete, PPC Pozzolana Portland Cement, OPC Ordinary Portland Cement, PSC Portland slag cement, PQS Pavement Quality Concrete.

FAQs

What is the DPC full form in Engineering?

The full form of DPC is Damo Proof Course. It is a special layer of waterproofing material to prevent the capillary action of water. A DPC is provided in the basement and Plinth level of the building floor and walls.

What is the full form of PQC in Engineering?

PQC is a pavement-quality concrete that is used in highway construction.

Where is RCC used?

RCC is very much used in the present technology in construction. Like buildings, roads, airports, irrigation, dams, water tanks, retaining walls, underground structures, electrical poles etc.
